1. Who is the controller

- Account data: display name, email, password (hashed), gender.
- Profile & compatibility data: your answers to the questionnaire, photos (if uploaded), and preferences.
- Communications: messages you send to other members and to our support team.
- Payment data: subscription status and a Stripe customer ID. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP, and log data.
- App info and performance: crash logs and diagnostics. When the app fails or performs poorly we record the error message and technical details, the page it happened on, your browser/device type, the app version, and your account ID if you are signed in.
- Cookies: strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure the Service.

We do not collect videos. Any question that refers to videos is only a compatibility question and the answer is stored as text, not as media. This information is never sold and is not used for third-party advertising.

Crash logs and diagnostics are used to fix bugs, keep the Service running reliably, measure performance, and improve how the app works for you. This information is never sold and is not used for third-party advertising.
3. How we use it
- to create your account and provide the Service;
- to compute compatibility and surface potential matches;
- to process subscription payments through Stripe;
- to prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms;
- to communicate with you about your account or the Service;
- to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to any outside sources. We do not use your answers or messages to serve third-party advertising. Any data you store with us is kept safe using encryption in transit, access controls, and other security measures designed to protect your information.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
Where required, we rely on: (a) performance of the contract you enter into with us; (b) our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service; (c) your consent (for optional processing you can withdraw at any time); and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
5. Sharing
- Other members see only what you choose to display on your profile and in messages.
- Service providers who process data on our behalf (hosting/database, Stripe for payments, email delivery). They are bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms.
- Legal & safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights and safety of users.
- Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy. Even in such an event, your personal information will not be sold to unrelated outside sources for their own marketing or unrelated business purposes.
6. International transfers
We are based in Bermuda and may transfer your information to the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
7. Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your data and account at any time from the Account page in the app. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Children
The Service is strictly for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; and withdraw consent. You can delete your data and account yourself at any time on the Account page. To exercise any other rights, email privacy@indepthdating.com.
US state privacy rights (California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws): you may request to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by those laws.
Bermuda PIPA: if you are a resident of Bermuda, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection Act 2016, including the right to access and correct your information and to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Bermuda.
